Casino Jobs and Staff; All Work and Play
The casinos around the world daze and amaze the visitor with luxury and high-class ambience that will make the casino visitor feel like kings and queens. The casino would on the other hand not be able to exude such attributes if it weren't for the most important ingredient in the casino industry; the casino staff and the jobs that are precisely done by the casino staff members.
The greatest casino would not be able to run smoothly and properly if it weren't for the many jobs that are available in the casinos. The most important jobs are probably the upfront staff members like the card dealers and the bankers that are manning the game tables. These staff members are directly responsible for gains or losses of the casino and also hold a great responsibility.
The second most important job in a casino is the security. The security staff in casinos consists of two different groups; the special surveillance staff and the physical security staff such as the body guards and undercover security staff. These people handle the casino job of spotting cheaters amongst the guests and even the staff members. These security staff members also have to guard the casino from known cheaters through a special face recognition system. Other tasks of the special surveillance staff, is to analyze possible card counters through special computer software programs that analyze the flow of the game and the graph of the betting and the odds.
Another important job in the casinos of today is the job of the pit manager. The job of this staff member is to supervise and watch the floormen. The Floormen are supervising the dealers in the casino pit and the ratio is usually one floorman for every three dealers. When minor problems arise in the casino pit, then the floormen are called to sort them out, but with major problems, the pit manager is called upon to do the job.
What would the casino be without the mechanical staff that repair and maintain the health of the slot machines and other casino machines. These staff members have the jobs of the casino doctors and are being called upon if one of the so-called babies (slot machines) fell sick. The casino also houses the restaurant and food staffs who are responsible for cooking and serving quality foods and drinks to the customers, and we should not forget the casino entertainers that do a wonderful job delighting the casino guests.
The casino staff members indeed have different jobs and there is a great variety of them as well. The next time you enter a casino, you will not only be thinking about the beauty, but also about the jobs behind the scenes that keep the casino running.
